Arizona Immigration Law Backlash

  1. But, what's your take?

As usual, Fox didn't get the people with the facts, just the best sound bytes.
The law DOESN'T let police pull anyone over on suspicion of being illegals. Like a drug search of their car, they have to do something illegal first (no turn signal or whatever).
Second, cops do already have a lot of authority to use their judgment in defining illegal. Car sound systems, for example. Blast your stereo thru Norman and you'll get a ticket for excessive noise. But what is excessive? How did they measure it? Cops' judgment is used all the time.
And third, I can't tell you what an illegal looks like, but I have a pretty good idea when I meet one. Example from Texas: Cop pulls over a minivan with 12 people inside, none that speak English or can produce an ID. Pretty good indication that you might want to look into their status here. (they were all from Saudi Arabia)
    My 2 cents.

  2. I completley agree, Fox dosen't seem to understand the most important part of reporting...gathering the facts. It is important for the public to learn about all the facts about this immigration law before arriving to conclusions.

  3. I believe in states rights to protect their citizens though it may cause controversy it is necessary and relevant in keeping a successful state.
