Father's Day Treat

The new Karate Kid movie is awsome. If you haven't seen it I strongly reccomend that you take your tails to the movies this weekend with pops this Father's Day. It has all of the elements that make a great movie and put's the old version to shame (some what). The old version rocked for the time being but the remake definently has everything that made the original movies great and so much more. Jaden Smith is so talented and has a bright future ahead of him as the new fresh prince.

Oklahoma's Crazy Weather

Today The Sooner State experienced some crazy weather...as usual. A record rain fall was last recorded at 5.88" and the flooding is expected to increase as the thunder storms continue through the morning. Typically Oklahoma doesn't receive this much rain fall for the entire month of June. The previous record was recorded at 3.95". OHP reported that traffic was closed at I-235 northbound at northeast 50th due to the heavy flooding. The Kilpatrick Turnpike by Penn and Portland was also closed, east bond traffic is exiting on Penn. The rain fall is expected to increase through out tomorrow morning. Its advised that people not under estimate this weather and proceed with caution while traveling.

"Suspect Van Der Sloot"

This particular case has all the drama of a movie or book and the deeper plot has yet to be revealed. Jordan Van Der Sloot who was also a suspect in the dissapearance of American teen Natalee Holloway seems to be in a very tight spot. He has been arrested in Peru for the deadly beaten of a Peruvian woman. Reports are saying there's substantial amounts of evidence including a taped confesssion by Van Der Sloot though his new lawyer has asked to have the confession thrown out. Prior to his visit to Peru Van Der Sloot had been under investigation for monies which his was extorting from the Holloway family. The FBI is also catching heat because they were supposedly supervising the transactions. Taking a look at Van Der Sloot on the evidence videos he seemed to be very arrogant and care-free. Makes one wonder if like terrorists, some murder suspects should be put on sort of a watch list while a case is still open.

Day 49 Will It End!

Could we possibly blame our government or president in anyway for the BP oil spill? Can we even call it BP's oil spill since there are multiple company's and organizations including Halliburton involved? Our ability to expand our resources seems to be an illusion that leads to the destruction of our most precious gift, Earth. Then starts the discussion of how much information we get about disasters that happen, the cause of the disaster and the effects that come afterwards. Our reactions and concerns as the people of the great country only last for the initial phase but many lack to realize like Katrina's aftermath, the devastation to this region can't be measured or even imagined. The thought then shifts to the flow of the money and responsibilities for clean-up. Many times these disasters make for a shark pool of money grabbers and individuals looking to take advantage of others misfortune. Don't be distracted or detoured from the truth and reality of whats actually going with the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill.

Does any one know the name of the comedian that we watched on thurs? Any way, he was hilarious I especially enjoyed the way he added his views on education and politics by using the power of humor.
